Overview
Pemayetv Emahakv Charter School’s metal roof showed chalking and color loss. Goals: match custom color, restore appearance, and reduce future maintenance by using a product with high fade-resistance.
Challenges
- Severe chalking reduced adhesion potential.
- Custom color match required to align with school branding.
- Ambient temps in the 90s °F; potential metal roof surface temperatures 130–140 °F at peak sun.
- Metal surface temperature and weather were key challenges .
Process
- Schedule work to avoid peak ambient and roof-surface temperatures, maximize pot life, and ensure proper application.
- Pressure-wash and scrub to remove chalk and grime.
- Address surface issues where needed.
- Paint two test patches to verify adhesion, dry times and spread rates.
- Apply two coats of Chem-Bake 1-Step (1201) via airless sprayer.
- Work performed over 5 days by 3 man crew.

- Tinted Chem-Bake 1-Step (1201) to the approved custom color.
- Sequenced work by roof sections to maintain schedule and safety.
Results
